Design contest CMcadeiras + ESAD

Design contest CMcadeiras + ESAD

Since its inception in 2013, the design contest between CMcadeiras and the School of Arts and Design (ESAD) has become a significant milestone. It's a biennial event eagerly anticipated both by our team and the Product Design students in their third year at ESAD.

This event is more than just a competition; it's a fertile ground for innovation and creativity. The students have a blank canvas to design and create their own chair, embarking on a journey of discovery and learning. At the start of this adventure, we arrange a visit to our factory, allowing future designers to comprehend our production methods and the broad range of materials at their disposal.

As the creative process progresses, the students benefit from the guidance of our experienced professional team. This support allows refining concepts, improving designs, and fine-tuning every detail, resulting in a final version that is a joint effort between the student's vision and our team's experience.

The final stage of this contest is the presentation of the final works to our rigorous CMcadeiras jury. This moment is filled with anticipation and excitement, where each proposal is meticulously analyzed, and the winner is finally chosen.

And what prize could be more thrilling for a young designer than seeing their creation come to life and being displayed at one of the largest and most prestigious design exhibitions in the world - the Milan Furniture Fair? In addition to this, the winner also gets the opportunity to accompany their product and visit the fair, a unique and incredibly enriching experience.

This contest goes beyond mere competition - it's a springboard to the world of design, a catalyst for professional growth, and a showcase for emerging talent on the international stage. At CMcadeiras, we firmly believe in the importance of nurturing the next generation of designers, and it's with immense pride that we participate in this process, helping to shape the designers of the future.
